Flapjacks

FLAPJACKS

Ingredients:
8ozs of hard butter
6ozs of caster sugar
4 or 5 dessertspoons of Lyle’s golden syrup
500grams of oatmeal

Utensils:
Oven and hob
Large saucepan
Wooden spoon
Weighing scales
Dessertspoon
Deep, straight sided 10x8inch brownie pan or baking tin


Method:
1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius
2. Melt butter, sugar and golden syrup in a large saucepan over a low heat.
3. Remove from heat and stir in approx 500grms oatmeal.
4. Press mixture into a deep tin.
5. Turn around in oven after about 10 minutes.
6. Remove from oven after a total of about 20mins, don’t allow to go dark, slighty golden colour is fine.
7. Score after a few minutes and allow to cool before completing the cut.
