June

The whole school body-pupils, teachers and parents are all agreed that the new extension is fabulous. Currently being used as two learning support rooms Ms Prole and Mr Howard are simply delighted with their new areas of work. The rooms have been finished to a very high standard and Frank and Mr Dunne have ably equipped the interiors with wall boards, interactive boards etc so that the pupils working here can gain optimum time in this calm and peaceful environment. Other staff members are delighted too with the face-lift acquired by the staffroom. This room continues to be the hub of DNS for the teaching and ancillary staff and many, many happy and noisy breaks are spent in here!

More Class Trips, Science Fair, Leavers Service, Music Generation Concert, Class Celebrations and new children (they're teeny tiny) visiting took up most of the month of June.

Caterpillars came to stay in the Junior Infant Classroom and we watched them emerge as 'Painted Lady' butterflies. DNS Sports Teams posed for end-of-year photographs, they all enjoyed a very successful year.

Sixth Class had us all reaching for our hankies at their final Assembly. We wish them well and we will miss them!

Happy safe holidays to everyone and good luck to the class of 2017 as they disembark the DNS ship and sail off to new destinations!
